The airline has set the baggage allowance limit for carry-on and checked bags. But you can buy additional bags or pay for the overweight and oversized bags too. The prices for excess baggage vary depending on your travel route, class of travel, or fare type.

For domestic flights within:

  • Columbia- Oversize baggage fee is COP 100.000 per piece
  • Ecuador- Oversize baggage fee is USD 80 per piece
  • Peru- Oversize baggage fee is USD 80 per piece

Carry-On Baggage

Carry-on baggage items must not weigh more than 10 kg with the maximum length of 35cm (14 inches), height 55cm (22 inches) and width 25cm (10 inches). Also, the sum in measurement must not exceed 115 lineal centimeters or 45 inches, including wheels and handles. Hand luggage can include general-use items, special-use items and liquids, gels and aerosols.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage limit must not exceed 62 inches (158cm). Travelers’ free baggage allowance is indicated on their flight ticket and passengers will have to pay an additional fee for exceeding the baggage limit. Baggage allowance for economy class is one piece up to 23 kg and two pieces, up to 23 kg each, depending on the destination city. For more, click here.

Overweight Baggage

Baggage that weighs 46 kg or more or whose sum of external dimensions exceeds 230cm will be considered as overweight or oversized baggage. As per the airline’s cancelation policy:

  • If you have booked tickets To and From the United States, you can easily cancel your tickets without a penalty and receive a full refund. But there are some conditions to be fulfilled like:
  1. Cancelation must be done within 24 hours of purchase.
  2. Reservation must be made 7 days before the flight’s departure date.

Yes, of course. The tickets that are booked To and From the US within seven days before the scheduled departure and canceled within 24 hours of purchase are eligible for a 100% refund.

However, if you cancel any domestic and international flights from Colombia within 24 hours of the scheduled departure, the airlines may retain up to 10% of the fare value.

To report a lost object at the Office or Baggage Central, you need to present an identification document and the boarding pass. If you are unable to claim it personally, it is recommended you send a signed authorization letter along with a copy of your identification document and that of the person you are authorizing.
