Carry-On Allowance

On all Caribbean flights, one carry-on bag plus one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop bag or other items of similar size) are allowed.

Weight and Size Allowances for carry-on bag:

  • Maximum weight: 10 kg/22lb
  • Maximum linear dimensions: (L + W + H) 114cm/45 in.

Size Allowances for personal item:

  • Maximum linear dimensions must be within (L + W + H) 91cm/36in.

Checked Baggage Allowance

The number of complimentary checked bags depends on the route and fare type you have chosen. To be eligible for free checked baggage, your bags must meet the following criteria:

  • Maximum weight: 23kg/50lb
  • Maximum linear dimensions: (L + W + H) 157cm/62 inches

Subject to the space availability, bags weighing more than 23kg and less than 32kg and exceeding 157cm but less than 292cm in size may be accepted by the airline. Any baggage beyond 32kg and 292cm will be transported through cargo.

Domestic and International Travel Checked Baggage Fee

For both domestic (between Trinidad and Tobago) and international destinations (excluding domestic travel between Trinidad and Tobago), the first checked bag is free. For additional bags, there is a certain fee.

The weight and size limits for the carry-on bag should be 10 kg/22lb maximum and within these linear dimensions: (L + W + H) 114cm/45 in. While the size allowance for the personal item should be within these linear dimensions: (L + W + H) 91cm/36in.

  • Lap Infants- If traveling with infants, you are allowed to carry a foldable stroller, an infant-carrying basket, or an infant car seat in the cabin. But it is subject to space availability.
  • Passengers with Special Needs- Passengers requiring wheelchairs, crutches, walkers or other special equipment are allowed to carry these mobility aids in addition to their carry-on bags. But it is subject to space availability.
  • Liquids and Gels- Gels or non-flammable liquids not exceeding 100ml (3.4 ounces) are permitted with your carry-on baggage.

Checked Baggage Policy

If you have bought air tickets from the airline directly, you can cancel your flight or make changes to your booking within 24 hours of your purchase at no extra cost. However, this is applicable only if your reservation was made at least seven days before the scheduled departure date.

You will be refunded in the original form of payment. But, please note the 24-Hour Refund Policy does not apply to domestic travel between Trinidad and Tobago.

To cancel Caribbean Airlines flights, visit the My Trips section on its official website. Click on the Manage Booking section, enter the details to access your reservation. Choose the flight you want to cancel.

Alternatively, you can contact the airline’s Reservations Sales for making changes to or canceling your flight.

As per the booking policy of the Caribbean:

  • You can book interline travel online. It is valid only for selected destinations.
  • You can cancel your tickets within 24 hours of purchasing them for a full refund without paying any additional charges. But the reservation which you want to cancel should be made at least seven days before the scheduled departure day.
  • There are different refund policies concerning lost tickets, waiver for illness/death, partially used tickets, unused tickets, and tickets purchased online and from travel agents. You can read more about the refunds for such cases by visiting this page.
  • You can make group bookings, but the number of passengers traveling together to an international destination must be 10 or more. Click here to know more about group requests.

You can make payments through various modes for purchasing tickets from the airline- Visa, MasterCard, American Express, UATP, and PayPal.

Yes, tickets are refundable at no extra cost provided:

  • You make changes to or cancel reservations within 24 hours of purchasing a ticket, and
  • The booking (you want to cancel) was made at least seven days before the scheduled departure date.

To book a Business Class seat with the Caribbean, visit the homepage of the airline. Go to the Book option, choose Book a Flight, enter the required details, choose to pay by money or Miles, search for available flights for the route you have entered. And you will see a list of all the flight options along with seat types.

In case you have booked a seat in the economy class, you have the option of Caribbean Upgrade which lets you upgrade to a business class seat.

The airline welcomes pets (dogs and cats) to fly in the cargo and as checked baggage on its flights. However, pets are not allowed to travel in the cabin in any of its aircraft.

Charges for Pets as Checked Baggage

Pets traveling as checked baggage should be kept in IATA-approved carriers that are big enough to allow them to stand up, lie down, and move around comfortably inside.

For flights between Jamaica and Fort Lauderdale and Trinidad and Fort Lauderdale, there is a checked baggage fee of $100, for domestic flights, the fee is $50; and for the rest of the flights, the fee is $100.

Left something on your flight? You can email the airline, providing a detailed description of the lost item(s) along with your seat assignment. The airline will send you an email regarding the status of your items or in case they are unable to find it.

Yes, you can make changes to Caribbean flights by going to the My Trips section available at the top of the homepage of the airline. Click on Manage Booking, enter the required details to fetch your reservations. And select the flight you want to make changes.

With the Caribbean, you can pre-reserve general seats and make changes to the already existing seats by contacting reservation agents or using the web check-in facility 24 to 3 hours before the scheduled departure by visiting the official website of the airline.

If you have purchased special services and are using web check-in facility, you may be able to change your seat assignment at the airport check-in counters.

Certain seats are not available for advance seat selection (emergency exits seats). Such seats will only be assigned at the airport.

On flights operated by the Caribbean, children between the age of 5 -11 years may travel alone, provided there is a pre-arranged Unaccompanied Minors service in place. While the service is optional for children traveling alone between the ages of 12-15.

Those who are less than five years of age must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or older.

Unaccompanied Minors Service Charge

On a direct continuous one-way travel, a charge of US$100 per child is applicable. Please note that the fee for Unaccompanied Minor is non-refundable and does not apply to travel between Trinidad and Tobago.
