This facility closes 60 minutes before the final departure; however, the operational hours may vary with different airports, owing to the Kiosk specification. In addition to this, you can also avail Automated Check-in facility either logging in on the EVA Air Global website or by using the link given in the email and get your boarding pass 12 hours before the flight take off.

Alternatively, you can access the check-in service counter at the airport and get your boarding pass. Check-in times may vary with different airports. So, it is advised to arrive early to complete this procedure between 3 hours to 1 hour before the final departure.

Carry-On Baggage Allowance

Premium Economy/ Economy Class passengers can carry 1 piece of carry-on baggage up to 7kg and Royal Laurel/ Premium Laurel/ Business Class can bring 2 pieces of 7kg each. The maximum dimensions of hand-baggage must not exceed 23X36X56cm or sum of 115cm. In addition to this, you can also bring one personal item on-board with dimensions within the size of 40X30X10cm, including wheels, side pockets, and handles. This personal item can be a laptop, handbag, briefcase, or a camera case.

EVA Air allows you to bring your pets such as cats, dogs, and rabbits on-board; however, there are certain rules that apply:  

  • Pets will be transported in the cargo compartment as checked baggage.
  • Only 1 pet is allowed in the container if the total weight of animal and container is more than 14kg.
  • 2 similar pets per container are allowed if the total weight of animal and container is less than 14kg.
  • There are certain pets which are not accepted on-board. These include brachycephalic dogs such as Boston Terriers, Boxers, Brussels Griffin, Pug, Chow Chow, and brachycephalic cats like Burmese, Himalayan, Persian, and Exotic Shorthair Cat.
  • Please note that these brachycephalic dogs and cats are not accepted from 1 October to 31 March at Southern Hemisphere points, from 1 April to 30 November at Northern Hemisphere points and throughout the year for Southeast Asia flights.
  • Also, animals less than 10 weeks or pregnant animals will be prohibited on EVA Air flights.

Additional charges will be applicable for bringing pets onboard. These charges are different for weight system and piece system.

Weight System

  • Charges equal to 1.5 times the weight is applicable.

Piece System

  • If weight is less than or equal to 32kg, then 2 units of additional baggage charges will be imposed.
  • If weight is more than 32kg and but less than or equal to 42kg, then 4 units of excess baggage charges will be applicable.
  • If the weight exceeds 42kg, then 6 units of excess baggage charges will be applicable.

Yes, EVA Air provides lost and offer service. According to this:

  • If your baggage is completely lost, then you can contact EVA Air personnel as soon as you can and file a claim within 21 days from the day following the day of the baggage claimed and within 7 days if it is partially lost.
  • You can easily trace your baggage here by using your file reference number and last name.

Please note only that baggage which is lost due to EVA’s negligence is eligible for baggage compensation; however, there are certain restrictions.

  • Checked baggage is only liable for compensation if the higher value of the same is declared in advance.
  • EVA Air is not liable to pay any compensation for carry-on baggage as this always remains under your custody.

  • Log-in to your Manage your Trip account by either using your Booking reference, the last name and given name or your Infinity Mileage Lands number and password.

  • Correct your name; however, the name change option is not valid for passengers traveling on codeshare flights.
  • Change your pre-selected seat.
  • Change your flight schedule.

EVA Air believes in offering utmost comfort while traveling and, so, it allows you to make the required changes to your seat assignment. However, there are some restrictions:

  • Changes in the paid seats can be easily made for free in Premium Economy/ Economy Class within 48 hours of the flight departure. But you will be charged for changing extra legroom seat.
  • To change a seat, you can either contact the EVA Air reservation center or inform the airline’s airport staff. Your seat changes are subject to the availability of your desired seats at that time.
  • Please note that amendment in the pre-selected seat is possible on the same route and within the equal or lower-priced zone. Difference or charges paid will not be refunded.

EVA Air has crafted a well-structured unaccompanied minor policy for children traveling alone. According to this policy:

  • Children who are between the age of 5 to 11 years are considered unaccompanied minors.
  • To avail this service, parents will have to complete an UM form and must include local contacts at both departure and arrival airport.
  • EVA AIR will allow only one unaccompanied minor whose age is between 8 years and 12 years.
  • EVA Air will consider all children as unaccompanied minors who are less than 12 years, even though they are traveling with a flyer of less than 16 years of age.
  • To complete the journey, the unaccompanied minor must require a UM applicable fare ticket. You can contact either the EVA ticketing office or travel agent to know about the details regarding the UM applicable Fare Ticket.
  • If the journey includes layover, then parents will have to make special arrangements for an authorized person who can meet their child at the stopover and stay along with him until the child is checked back in to proceed the journey.
  • Unaccompanied minors are strictly not permitted to use the VIP Lounge facility at San Francisco/ London/ Amsterdam Airport.
