Web Check-in

Download the travel app of Hawaiian Airlines and check-in with your smartphone. Go to Manage My Trip section, enter the details required for the mobile check-in and have your boarding pass sent on your registered email id.

Airport Check-in

Check-in at the airport using one of the airline’s self-service kiosks. You can take assistance from a Hawaiian Airlines representative. Enter your confirmation code, an E-Ticket, or HawaiianMiles number, to proceed with the check-in process and print your boarding pass then and there.

Two (2) pieces of checked baggage are allowed per passenger at no additional charge. Baggage will be weighed and measured to ensure it meets the dimensional requirements permitted for normal baggage allowance, it will be weighed and measured by adding length, width and height.

  • The total linear dimension allowance is 62 inches (157 cm).
  • Baggage weighing more than 100 lbs. (45 kg) per piece will not be accepted.

Any excess baggage will be accepted by the airline only upon payment of excess baggage charges and the checked baggage will be subject to checked bag fees and any additional applicable excess piece, weight, or oversized baggage charges as stated in this rule.

Charges for the excess baggage will apply from the point where it has been accepted for transportation to the point at which baggage is checked or transported in the passenger compartment. Baggage connecting to other airlines will also be subject to the connecting airline's excess charges, in addition to the carrier's excess charges.

Carry-On Baggage

Any baggage carried on board should be stored in carry-on compartments of the flight, under a seat in your custody, or in an overhead compartment approved for the carriage of such baggage. The baggage allowance is as follows:

Maximum size is 45 linear inches (9x14x22) and maximum weight is 25 pounds per passenger.

The airline has a limit of one (1) piece of carry-on baggage, which may be subject to change anytime without prior notice. In addition to the carry-on bag, you may carry a personal item such as a purse, briefcase, laptop computer, backpack, or a similar piece.

In case your flight is full, the airline reserves the right to stow carry-on baggage in the cargo compartment of the aircraft.

Checked Baggage

Two (2) pieces of checked baggage are allowed per passenger at no additional charge. Baggage will be weighed and measured to ensure the baggage meets the dimensional requirements permitted for normal baggage allowance, it will be weighed and measured by adding length, width and height.

Exception: Baggage for travel between the United States and Australia, New Zealand, or French Polynesia (Papeete, PPT) weighing more than 70 lbs. (32 kg) per piece will not be accepted.

Baggage must be checked at the city or airport office designated by the carrier and in advance of flight departure time as prescribed by the airline.

The baggage must bear the passenger’s name on it. Baggage identification labels will be given free of charge by the carrier.

Live animals will not be checked beyond a point of transfer to another carrier.

Whether you have a confirmed reservation or not, or you have completed any portion of travel covered under your booking, the airline may cancel your complete reservation due to the following reasons:

  • If you fail to board any reserved flight operated or marketed by Hawaiian, or if any other carrier cancels your reservation for failing to board its flight.
  • If you fail to check in or you have not purchased your tickets at least one hundred twenty (120) minutes before the scheduled departure time.
  • if you are not available at the boarding gate to board the aircraft at least thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled departure, irrespective of whether or not you have checked in for your flight.

As per the booking policy of Hawaiian Airlines:

  • Tickets are non-transferable.
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.
  • Wholly unused tickets are valid for transportation for one year from the date of purchase.
  • Partially used tickets are valid for transportation for one year from the date of initial use.
  • When making changes (date/flight, reroute, or other), any applicable difference in fare (greater than $0) will be charged from you in addition to any applicable change fee. No refund or credit will be provided if a flight change is made and the applicable new fare is less than the original fare paid.
  • If you buy a separate ticket of another carrier or Hawaiian Airlines that departs sooner than their Minimum Connection Times allow, your checked baggage will not be checked to the final destination on your separate ticket.

Yes, Hawaiian Airlines tickets are refundable but certain rules apply. As a general rule, you will be refunded for surrendering an unused ticket or avoided portion of a ticket based on some terms and conditions:

  • Hawaiian Issued Tickets Only, i.e., tickets identified with carrier code (173).
  • In case of a completely unused ticket, the refund will be the amount equal to the fare and charges applicable to the original ticket issued to you. And for partially used ticket, the refund will be the amount equal to the difference between (i) the fare and charges applicable to the original issued Ticket and (ii) the fare and charges applicable to the used portion of the Ticket.
  • No refunds are eligible for the tickets surrendered to us after 12 months of the original issue date of the ticket.

Hawaiian Airlines allows pets to travel in the cabin and as checked baggage and in the cargo compartment.

However, the airline restricts the transportation of pets in cargo in cases of extreme temperatures. And due to inadequate space, each flight limits the number of animals traveling onboard. So, as soon as you plan your travel, the airline recommends you get your and pet’s tickets booked. To do so, you can call them directly at 1-800-367-5320, advising the agent that you are going to fly with your pet.

Note: All animal kennels are subject to inspection and approval by Hawaiian Airlines.

In the Cabin

In the passenger cabin of inter-island flights and flights leaving the State of Hawaii, only small dogs and cats can travel. But, the combined weight of the pet and carrier should not exceed 25 lbs (11 kg). Each passenger is allowed to travel with only one carrier and only one animal per carrier is permitted (except for 2 puppies or kittens from the same litter or breed).

Pets traveling in the cabin of inter-island flights are entitled to a fee of $35. While for all other flights, the fee is $175 (each way).

Checked Pets

As per the policy of pets in the checked baggage dogs, cats, and household birds can be transported, if the combined weight of both- the pet and carrier is below 70 lbs (32 kg). The applicable fee for checked pets for inter-island flights is $60 (each way) and for all other flights, it is $225 (each way). Only one pet is allowed in each carrier, except for 2 puppies or kittens from the same litter or breed.

Yes, you can make changes to your assigned seat. It is simple.

  • Go to com and log in to your HawaiianMiles account.
  • Click on your name in the upper right corner.
  • Select “My Trips” from the dropdown menu.
  • Click “Open Itinerary” to access the trip you’d like to change.
  • On the Itinerary page, scroll down to the Seat Assignment section and click “Change Seats”.
  • Select your desired seats for each flight and click “Continue”.

Children aged between 5 - 11 years traveling alone or with one or more other children aged 5 – 11 years only are considered “Unaccompanied Minors.” Any child traveling as an Unaccompanied Minor must have reached his or her 5th birthday by the date of travel and will be required to do some necessary paperwork and pay a fee at the time of check-in.

Applicable Fee

For travel within the State of Hawaii, there is a fee of $35.00 per Unaccompanied Minor applicable for each segment from the designated point of departure to the designated destination, via the designated route of a ticket. This fee is in addition to the cost of the ticket.

For travel between the Continental USA and Hawaii (each way), there is a fee of $100.00 applicable per Unaccompanied Minor, in addition to the cost of the ticket. Unaccompanied Minors will only be allowed on non-stop direct flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
