Founded in 1936 as DETA – Direcção de Exploração dos Transportes Aereos, LAM Mozambique Airlines is the national flag carrier of the Republic of Mozambique, which was renamed with its current name in 1980. Based in Maputo, its main hub is situated at the Maputo International Airport. With a fleet of six aircraft, it flies scheduled passenger and charter flight services to 15 destinations in and around the South African region. It is a member of the IATA and African Airlines Association (AFRAA) and has codeshare agreements with Kenya Airways, TAP Air Portugal, South African Airways, and a few more airlines.
