Carry-On Baggage

Depending on your type of reservation, you are allowed to carry with you a certain limit on the flight. Anything over and above can be purchased either at the time of booking or by accessing the My Trips section on the website of the airline.

 

Vuela Basic: Two items of carry-on baggage not exceeding 22 lb (10 kg) in total and measuring no more than 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 in (57 x 40 x 33 cm).

 

Vuela Classic: Two carry-on bags not exceeding 22 lb and should measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches each. Also, one checked bag not exceeding 55 lb and 62 linear inches.

Vuela Plus: Two items of carry-on baggage not exceeding 22 lb (10 kg) in total and measuring no more than 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches (57 x 40 x 33 cm). Also, one checked bag not exceeding a maximum weight of 55 lb (25 kg) and 62 total linear inches.

Checked Baggage

The maximum limit for checked bags is five. Each bag should not weigh more than 55 lb (25 kg). If any of these bags exceeds 55 lb (25 kg), then it will be considered as overweight baggage, and you will have to pay a certain fee. Overweight baggage must not exceed 99.2 lb (45 kg).

For any other oversized or overcharged bags, your baggage is chargeable as per your national or international route. Here are some of the charges applicable for excess baggage on checked bags:

  • If your checked baggage weighs between 26 to 35 kg, you need to pay LS $800 MXN at the time of airport and boarding gate.
  • If it weighs between 36 to 46 kg, the amount payable at the airport or the boarding gate will be LS $1,800 MXN.

Overweight or Oversized Baggage- If your bag weighs more than 55 lb. or 25 kg or is oversized depending on the type of reservation you made, it will subject to an additional charge. To know about the excess baggage, refer to this link.

As per the cancelation policy of the airline, all the flights departing from and arriving in the U.S. can be without any penalty, but only if:

  • You can cancel your booking within 24 hours of your purchase.
  • The flight was booked seven or more days before the flight’s scheduled departure time.
  • The cancelation was made over the telephone upon your request.

You can claim your refund, either at the airport, by calling the toll-free customer care number, or writing them an email on yourexperience@volaris.com.

You can cancel your Volaris domestic flight and get a full refund without any penalty if you have canceled your booking within 24 hours of your purchase. To cancel your flight reservation or claim your refund, you can call the customer care numbers.

 

If your flight is scheduled for departure within 24 hours after the purchase of tickets, you can cancel the booking by notifying Volaris at least 3 hours before the departure time.

  • The cage must be placed under the seat in front of you. Also, it must be safeguarded with a zip tie, provided by the airline at the airport.

 

Pet in Belly

  • To travel with your pet on the same airplane, you need to make sure that the weight between your pet and the care should not exceed 100 lb. (or 45 kg). Also, your pet must be able to move freely in the cage.
  • The cage must be a rigid structure, scratchproof, clean, waterproof, well-ventilated, and free of objects that may harm your pet. And it must have handles for lifting and no wheels.
  • You need to label the cage with your personal information, such as name, phone number, and address, including the identification of the pet like name, age, and gender.
  • You are allowed to place spill-proof containers with food and water in the cage.
  • The cage must also have absorbent materials such as sanitary stones and neutralizer of aromas.
